Sign Up I have been a member of St. Barbara Parish pushing past eight decades, baptized in the old church oh so long ago. The one constant over all of those years, regardless of who the Pastor was, was the living experience of Christ within the walls of church that continually beckoned to any and all to come to St. Barbara. The consistent message, “We want you, we need you to worship with us to celebrate the miracle of the Mass and all it represents.” I have observed, with glee, the appearance of many new folks showing up at St. Barbara Church recently. It sure puts a smile on my face! Gary H

You are Welcomed. Click to Enlarge Are you visiting? Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or talk with a greeter when you visit. Want to learn more? Take a look at our Adult Faith Formation Classes and see if you want to join in. You can always come to join us on Sunday morning to celebrate Mass with us. Consider taking a look at the Seattle Archdiocese Recommended Media page . We look forward to meeting you. Sign Up to our Weekly Newsletter HERE. Looking for Parish Registration? Go HERE. Frequently Asked Questions When are services? SATURDAY - 5 pm (Main Church) SUNDAY - 8 & 10 am (Main Church) WED to FRI - 9 am (Historic Church) When is confession available? SATURDAY - 3:30 to 4:30 pm Other | By Appointment (Rosary Prayer on first Sunday of every month at 9:15 am, Main Church) What should I wear? We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. We always encourage you wear your "Sunday Best", but in the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt, and that's fine too! However, we do request that shorts be of a conservative length (no “short-shorts”) and that in general, clothing be respectable and conservative. How do I get to St. Barbara Catholic Parish? Our Main Church is up the hill from the original historic Black Diamond Catholic Church on 32416 6th Ave. Take a look at the image at the top of this page to familiarize yourself with our campus. Where should I park? Parking is available on the upper lot for weekend masses in the main church. You may also use the lower parking lots near the historic church during weekday mass. Either are optional during both. If you require assistance getting to and from the parking lot please contact the parish office and let us know how we can help. Where do my children go? Children are welcome to join their parents in church during Mass. We have a "Little Saints Room" toward the front side of the church with drawing books and other toys, if the need arises. Take a look at our Youth Faith Formation for Sunday School guidance. I'm not catholic, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel? There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during worship. Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. I'm not catholic, is it okay for me to participate in communion? Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith. Catholics believe the host's substance changes from bread to the Body of Christ. Most non-Catholics think of Communion as symbolic, whereas we believe it is a sacrament and the true presence of Christ. So, if you are not Catholic, we ask that you not receive communion. However, those not receiving the Body of Christ and Precious blood are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chests for a special blessing. If you would like to speak with someone about this, we have some wonderfully knowledgeable teachers who would enjoy conversing with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the parish office to learn more. Am I expected to put money in the offering? If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our parish on a weekly basis. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can sign up for online giving. I have a hearing problem. Is there any special assistance? We currently don't offer listening devices, however most homily messages are printed and available in the narthex when you walk in. I have another question I need answered. Feel free to contact us by calling (360) 886-2229, or you can send us a message online.
